Building backlinks is a chore. A very necessary chore, if you like to get some Google traffic. SEOLinkRobot joins the ranks of software tools that aim to make backlink building a lot easier and quicker and in this review, we’ll take a close look at how it aims to do so.

Is SEOLR a serious competitor and will it help you get your sites ranked more easily than ever before? Or is it just “yet another” mediocre link-building tool?

Read on to find out.

SEOLinkRobot Overview

SEO Link Robot is a windows-based program and, like many of it’s kind, it automates backlink building through various submissions, like article-submissions to article directories and free blogging sites, social bookmark submissions etc.

Available Link Targets

As of this review, here’s a breakdown of the sites SEOLinkRobot can submit to:

26 Free Blogs

9 Article Directories

10 Press Release Sites

18 Social Bookmarking Sites

16 RSS Directories

Loads of Pinging Sites

Total Link Targets: 79

This is a pretty low number, compared to many competing products. It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker, but mixing up links from only 79 sources can only get you so far, no matter how fancy your link-building strategies are.

SEOLinkRobot Video

It’s far more effective to show what this software does, rather than just write about it for pages on end, so here’s a quick walkthrough video:

Mini Nets and Limitations

As mentioned in the video, the options to automatically build large or small (open) linkwheels and the "mini-net-builder" are features that make SEOLinkRobot unique. I've seen many backlink building services that offer creating mini-nets and networks consisting of multiple mini-nets for their clients. SEOLinkRobot can automate much of the creation tasks for those kind of link networks.

The problem is the lack of diversity in the available link targets, though. You may be able to build very complex, interlinked networks using SEOLR, but all of those links will be coming from the same 79 total websites...

And while I'm nagging: SEOLinkRobot lacks a scheduling function and it seems that account creations are only possible with one thread at a time (which makes them a very slow process). On the other hand, the submissions work with multiple threads and in general, I've found SEOLR to be overall easy to use and pleasant to work with. While the total number of sites in the system is low, at least the success rates are very good.

Conclusion

All in all, SEOLinkRobot is promising, but too limited to warrant a real recommendation. There's nothing dramatically wrong with it, except that it just doesn't submit to a large number of sites. If it were available at a one-time price, I'd recommend it as a nice little mini-net building software, but as it is, I'm not sure SEOLR is worth the cost, compared to the competing products.

However, as you’ll soon see, while Sick Submitter is similar in principle, to many of it’s competitors, it’s at the same time a completely different beast…

What exactly does Sick Submitter do and is is it better, worse or just different, compared to the competition? Read on for all the details.

Sick Submitter Overview

Name:

$20/month

Sick Submitter is a Windows desktop program that was originally built to create forum profiles as backlink-sources and has since evolved into an “everything submitter” with capabilites for submitting articles, bookmarks, RSS feeds and various forms of profile links.

One thing that comes to mind almost immediately, when you start working with Sick Submitter is “learning curve”. While I wouldn’t say that the software is needlessly complicated, it sure is complex. It does a lot of things in many different ways and it’s highly customizable. These traits and “simple” are mutually exclusive, I’m afraid.

Custom Lists, Custom Wizards, Custom Everything

Out-of-the box, Sick Submitter does not have a very impressive list of link targets and isn’t nearly as capable as it can be. Sick Submitter is very much based on customization and it has a very lively community. To really get the most out of it, you will either have to download free link packets, purchase premium link packets, use something like Scrapebox to create your own link packets or do all of those things combined.

There are two types of scripts you can add to Sick Submitter: packets are lists of link targets that you can load into the program and run submissions for. Wizard templates are like plugins that “teach” Sick Submitter how to do a new type of submission. For example, there’s a Wizard Template that lets you add your own lists (or purchased lists) of WordPress multi-user sites to then submit content and links to, which is something Sick can’t do out of the box.

Here’s an overview of the types sites Sick Submitter can submit to without additional Wizard Templates:

Forum profiles (SMF, FluxBB, PunBB, PHPBB)

RSS Directories

Link Directories (PHP Link Directory)

Article Directories

Social Bookmarking Sites

Blog Comments?

And here’s a non-exhaustive list of what it can do if you add the available Wizard Templates, from the Sick forum:

Coppermine Photo Comments

Working With Sick Submitter

What sets Sick Submitter apart from most other link-building tools is that it's highly customizable. This can be a big advantage or a big pain, depending on how you look at it. On the one hand, Sick offers a wealth of possibilities, since you can create your own site lists to submit to (using Scrapebox, or Sick's own scraping tool), download free and paid packages and link-lists and even create your very own submission templates from scratch. On the other hand, Sick Submitter requires a lot of setup and customization and the importing of link-packets before it really does anything useful.

In short: the good thing is that you can customize it, the bad thing is that you have to customize it.

Conclusion

I can recommend Sick Submitter only if you really enjoy tinkering with software. If you like the fact that you can scrape your own link lists, import various packages and templates and build your very own link-building machine, then Sick Submitter should be right up your alley and the low monthly price is a nice added bonus. Concerning the price, you need to be aware, though, that Sick Submitter is almost certainly going to cost you more than the $20/month price tag. At the very least, you will also spend some money on various packets and link lists (which typically sell in the range of $10-$50 a piece). In addition, most heavy users of Sick Submitter own Scrapebox, maybe a few private proxies and either a dedicated notebook or a VPS to run it on.

At any rate, don't let the low price tag fool you. It's no use having a cheap tool that you never use because it's too time-consuming to work with.

Having said all that, Sick Submitter is a tool with a lot of potential and it can build various types of links that no other tools can. Once past the learning curve and in the right hands, this can be one powerful SEO tool.

Article directory submissions are one of the first link-building techniques I ever used and did some testing with. I have tried many different automation solutions and most of them have been at least slightly disappointing. The problem usually lies in part with automation software but also in a large part with article directories themselves.

There are thousands upon thousands of article directories and they can be easily found through common footprints. The problem is that most of them are broken, abandoned, hacked or completely worthless (no PageRank, no backlinks etc.). So if you have a tool that can submit articles to lots of directories, you may find that you get far fewer backlinks then expected and that those backlinks are not very useful at all.

Today, I’m reviewing Article Marketing Robot. Read on to see if it could change my mind about article directory submissions.

Article Marketing Robot Overview

Name:

Article Marketing Robot

Vince Severson

Medium:

Article Submission Software

Price:

$80

Article Marketing Robot is actually more than just an article submitter. It comes with:

Article directory account creator

Automatic e-mail verifier

Complete article spinning tool

Decaptcher integration

Backlink checking and reporting

Link Volume and Link Quality

As mentioned in the intro to this article, my main concern with article directory submissions is that, in my extensive experience, the failure rates tend to be very high and the link quality tends to be very low. So, how does AMR hold up in this regard?

At the time of writing, you start out with a database of 3758(!) directories. The first step is to create accounts for all of these directories. To do this, you set up an e-mail account and give Article Marketing Robot access to this account. You should also sign up with Decaptcher or DeathByCaptcha (recommended) and link the account to AMR, otherwise you’ll be manually solving captchas all day.

The robot then goes out and starts creating accounts. This worked flawlessly on the majority of directories. Next up, you set it to go through your e-mail inbox and confirm all the auto-confirmation messages sent out after registering to most of these directories. In my test, it successfully confirmed 2152 accounts. So, even though there is naturally a certain failure rate in the signup process, we’re left with more than 2000 directories we can submit to. That is still A LOT.

The next step is to add a spun article to Article Marketing Robot. It has a complete, fully functional spinner built in. It seems to be decent enough, but I didn’t spend too much time with it, as I’m a satisfied user of the Best Spinner. When you add your article, you also set tags and categories and, of course, include a resource box with links back to the sites you want to promote.

Once that’s done, you hit “submit” and choose whether you want to submit to all of the directories on one go, or spread it out over a longer period of time (AMR needs to be running in the background for the latter function). Article Marketing Robot is a multi-threaded application and given enough processing power and bandwidth, it can zip through a thousand submissions in just a few minutes.

In my most recent test, 1380 of the submissions were successful. If you look at how many of those submissions go to directories that have any PageRank at all, there are 283 left and if you look for PR3 and higher, you’re left with 77 sites.

<img width="562" height="347"alt="" src="http://imimpact.com/wp-content/themes/striking/cache/images/069AMRgraph2-562x347.jpg" />

This illustrates my point about article directories. Out of a pool of a whopping 3758 directories, you end up with only about 77 submissions where the backlink can be expected to pass a good amount of link-juice. That’s 2.05% out of the original list of directories.

UPDATE:

The above numbers were updated on January 28. 2011.

For the total count of articles, I only counted those with more than 5% “health”. Health is an indication of how likely a signup and submission is going to succeed to a particular directory. I don’t even bother with directories below 5% health, because it basicall means: It ain’t gonna happen.

So it’s Rubbish?

No. Not at all, actually. Article Marketing Robot is easily the best article submitter I have ever seen and there are several reasons for that.

It Does Build a Lot of Links

Those links are mostly not very valuable, but there’s merit in volume as well. While the failure rate is significant, it’s not nearly as high as the failure rates of some other submitters and the total number of directories in the system to begin with means that you still end up getting a big old load of backlinks for any run you do with this software.

The one thing to keep in mind is that you’re looking at one single set of directories, here. This means that if you submit two articles with links to the same URL, the second round of submissions will have limited link-value since the links will be coming from the same sources as the ones in the first round. The best way to use it is to do one round of submissions for every new page on your money sites, as well as for every major page linking back to your money site (i.e. use it for link reinforcement)

It Saves Lots of Time

Many automation tools aren’t all that automatic. They require lots of setup and maintenance and you need to constantly be around while they’re working and intervene yourself from time to time. Article Marketing Robot is not like that at all, fortunately. It does require a bit of setup time, but once that’s done, it is as close to a fully automatic solution as anything can get.

Link Reports

A very special feature that AMR boasts is that you can set it go check on all the articles it’s submitted for you and it will return a report of all the live links it finds. This is particularly useful if you want to feed a list of all your linking URLs into a backlink boosting system.

One-Time Price

Article Marketing Robot is available for a one-time fee of 80 bucks. That is a really good deal and it would not have been surprising to see a recurring fee attached to a product like this. That’s a big plus, since you can potentially get a lot of bang for your buck, if you use AMR often.

Stellar Support

I only had slight difficulties with the program once and contacted Vince, the creator of AMR, with a question. I could hardly believe how quickly he replied. He was incredibly helpful and offered absolutely stellar support. I honestly don’t know how he does it, with all the customers he already has. In any case, I think it’s really worth mentioning, as it shows that Vince cares about his customers and goes out of his way to help them. Big thumbs-up for that!

Conclusion

Normally, I’d make a video showing the process of setting up accounts and doing submissions etc. However, you can find videos detailing all these steps on the sales-page for AMR, so it would feel redundant if I made such videos as well.

Article Marketing Robot is without a doubt the best article directory submitter I’ve ever used. It works swiftly and efficiently and is a useful link-building tool, despite the failure rates and the fact that many of the directories provide only limited link value. You can’t expect any SEO miracles from doing a few AMR submissions, but used as a bulk link builder and link-hub builder in conjunction with a few other techniques and tools, it’s very useful. Couple that with the one-time price and you’ve got yourelf a very good deal. In other words: It’s not necessarily the first tool I’d spend my money on, but as a part of my SEO arsenal, I’m very happy to have Article Marketing Robot.

UPDATE:

I’ve added this video to clarify why Article Marketing Robot is different from the vast majority of article submission software and why I recommend it even though I recommend staying away from article submitters in general… I know, it’s a bit confusing.

Authority Link Network is a blog network with a unique and interesting concept. Usually, blog networks cost a fee to join if you want to submit articles, so you can get backlinks from the sites in the network. Receiving articles from the network is normally free. Because of this, most networks rely on reaching enough webmasters who want to receive the (often low-quality) content for their sites, to grow the network. Authority Link Network is quite different.

Read on to see what ALN does differently and whether or not their plan works.

How it’s Different

First of all, Authority Link Network is free to join. Signing up and submitting articles to get backlinks from the network doesn’t cost any money. You do have to add a site of your own to the network, though and this site needs to have PageRank. Plus, the higher the PageRank of a site you add, the more articles you’re allowed to submit per day. You can cut the total amount of PageRank of all of your sites in the system in half, to get the number of posts you can submit per day, to ALN. For example, if you add in two PR3 domains, you can submit 3 articles per day.

Alternatively, you can also get submission credits by paying a monthly fee (and the prices are lower than in most other blog networks).

In each article you submit, you get to add up to three links and each article gets submitted to exactly 15 sites in the network. This is another thing that sets ALN apart from other networks: Usually there is no upper limit to the number of publishes an article gets. With ALN, you get a guaranteed 15 publishes, but never more. On the other hand, you can’t moderate the articles that get posted to your sites, either. You’ll get articles on all sorts of topics at a steady pace, as soon as you add a site to the network. In essence, you have to “sacrifice” a site to receive these articles, in order to be able to use Authority Link Network.

So, they’ve got a system in place that makes sure there are no rubbish PR0 blogs in the network and that incentivizes people to add higher-PR sites and they have a limit on syndication to avoid the sites getting spammed with too many articles.

Now the question is: Does it work?

Test Results

I did a very simple test with Authority Link Network: I picked two pages and two keywords and used nothing but ALN to promote them. Both of the pages were already indexed and one of them I had already built links for a while back.

The first keyword is a fairly competitive one in the fitness niche. The page in question had previously been in positions 15-12 in the Google results, before it dropped off to below the 10th page, for unknown reasons. It had been off the radar for several weeks and I had done no other link-building during this time. Then, I started submitting one to two articles per day to ALN, containing a link to this page. Just over three weeks later, the page is now ranked in position number 4 for it’s keyword.

Here’s a quick screengrab showing the steady increase in position:

<img width="401" height="147"alt="" src="http://imimpact.com/wp-content/themes/striking/cache/images/ALNrank-401x147.png" />

The second keyword is slightly less competitive, but I had never done any link-building for the page in question and neither was it anywhere to be found in the first then pages of the Google search results, for it’s keyword. I also submitted an average of one article a day to ALN, for this page. Here, the results are less clear. The page emerged in position 30 after about two weeks, then dropped off again. It later re-emerged in position 20, just to drop off again. Currently, it’s back in position 20, but I don’t yet know whether it’s going to stay there or drop off again.

Summary:

Keyword 1: Went from #15 – #4

Keyword 2: Went from #100+ – #20

Conclusion

Overall, I’m very happy with these results. In both tests, the ALN links clearly caused an upward movement in the SERP. For keyword 2 the rankings are a still unstable, but it’s clear that the keyword is only showing up in the first few pages of Google at all, thanks to the ALN links. Keyword 1 showed nice and steady improvements.

This once again indicates the importance of link diversity: Keyword 1 had other links built for it, before the test while keyword 2 has nothing but ALN links to it. I’m pretty sure that if I use some more tools and methods to add a few more backlinks for keyword 2, it will quickly start to stabilize as well.

Bottom line: Joining ALN is going to cost you a one-time investment in a domain with PageRank. You can get a PR3 domain for $30-$50, less than one single monthly fee for most blog networks. This will get you 30 article publishes per day from ALN.

Absolutely worth it.

SEO Blueprint is a collection of link-building tools that I already briefly mentioned in my IM-Advantage review, as they are part of that membership. SEO Blueprint consist of three tools: Blog Blueprint, Article Blueprint and Link Blueprint. All of them offer different ways to build backlinks to sites you want to promote. The question is: Are those backlinks any good and are these tools worth the investment?

Read on to find out.

SEO Blueprint Overview

Name:

SEO Blueprint

Creator:

Steve Clayton & Tim Godfrey

Medium:

Link Building Software

Price:

$67/month

Without any further ado, let’s go into some detail on each of the three tools in SEO Blueprint:

Link Blueprint

Link Blueprint is a fairly simple link-exchange system. You can add sites of your own to the system and request links to those sites. This will cost you credits. Other Link Blueprint members will link to your site and you will link to their sites, which earns you credits.

The system makes sure that there is no reciprocal linking going on. Link exchanges like this can work, but Link Blueprint doesn’t offer anything that sets it apart from other, similar systems.

It should also be noted that Link Blueprint requires quite a bit of manual work. For me personally, it’s too time-intensive and too fickle to bother with, but if you invest the time and effort necessary, you can make Link Blueprint work for you.

Article Blueprint

Using Article Blueprint, you can submit spun articles (using an interface where you spin articles paragraph-by-paragraph, very similar to the Unique Article Wizard system) to a network of websites. Every article you enter gets posted on 470 sites, which looks great at first glance, but doesn’t hold up very well under close scrutiny. The problem is that the articles you submit are buried away somewhere in the background on 470 sites that aren’t article directories or blogs. The sites are on all kinds of topics and all they do is feature an inconspicuous “Articles” link, which leads to a completely non-optimized back-end with piles of articles from all the Article Blueprint members.

It’s disappointing to see that there is literally zero on-page optimization going on in these “article dumps”. It would not take much to set the system up to add proper tags, format the pages a bit less hideously and do some good interlinking. From what I found, looking at the articles, it doesn’t seem like providing valuable backlinks to the Article Blueprint customers is a major concern for the network owners…

Up until recently, Article Blueprint also posted to a series of regular article directories, in addition to the network of 470 sites owned by the creators. If this feature were still part of the package and the network was better optimized, Article Blueprint would be a very useful tool. In it’s current state, it’s not really worth an investment, unfortunately.

In an isolated test, I did not see any significant rank movements for a long-tail keyword, building Article Blueprint links only.

Blog Blueprint

Blog Blueprint is a high-PR blog network which works in the same way as LinkVana or BuildMyRank. You submit short, 100 word article snippets and include one link. Each of those snippets goes out to one single blog in a network of blogs that all have PageRank. As demonstrated by BuildMyRank, this is a method that can work extremely well, if the network is really a high-quality network and it’s ensured that the links get indexed and all that.

Unfortunately, Blog Blueprint is a far less groomed network than BMR. There is no additional work done to ensure indexation of your posts and from what I’ve seen, the blogs seem to get flooded with spammy posts, for the most part. I did see some rank improvements from posting to Blog Blueprint, but since I was an IM-Advantage member and the URLs of your Blog Blueprint posts show up in the Bookmarking tool available only inside IM-Advantage, I could help them along a little and make sure they got indexed. As an SEO Blueprint member, you won’t know the URLs of your blog posts, so results may vary.

Conclusion

SEO Blueprint initially looked like an awesome deal: 3 different link-building tools at a very reasonable price of $67/month. Unfortunately, the tools are all okay, but not great. And in the case of Article Blueprint, I’m afraid calling it “okay” is actually an overstatement.

Here’s the problem: $67/month is not terribly expensive, but two out of the three tools aren’t much worth having, so I can’t recommend SEO Blueprint. Blog Blueprint, the most effective tool of the three, is available separately for $59/month. But instead of getting that, get BuildMyRank, which is essentially the same thing, at the same price, but way better.

SEO Blueprint looked promising, but after closer consideration, I have to put it on my “Don’t Buy” List.

The Link Juicer is a link-building service that promises to deliver lots of backlinks from a variety of sources in a highly automated fashion. Getting your sites backlinked automatically without you having to do anything is always an attractive premise and as the name of the product implies, if it works, it can be a nice tap of “link-juice” that you can add to your arsenal of backlinking tools.

The only question is: Does it work well enough to justify a purchase?

Read on to learn how the Link Juicer works and what kind of results I got with it.

The Link Juicer Overview

Name:

The Link Juicer

Peter Adamson

Link-Building Service

Price:

$47/month

Even though the Link Juicer is highly automated, it is still based on content and some fairly well know link sources. The standard account for $47 per month will get you 50 links per day to as few or as many URLs as you choose.

Setup

To set up a new campaign, you basically dump a lot of highly spun content into the Link Juicer (article, titles, tags/keywords, descriptions) and set a target URL or several target URLs. There are recommended levels of uniqueness for each of the content types and it’s advisable to use highly spun content. The longer you want a campaign to run un-touched, the better spun your content should be.

Here’s a video detailing the campaign setup in the Link Juicer:

 videoHeight: "360",

 playerColor: "050505"
});
//]]

Backlinks/Link Sources

The Link Juicer will take the content in your campaign(s) and create the following kinds of content:

Bookmarks on social bookmarking sites

Posts on free Web2.0 blogs (livejournal, multiply etc.)

Articles on article directories

Articles on WPmu sites

That's a fairly good mix of link sources, in itself. Although I did see some repetition of link-sources across a few hundred links, so I guess the network could be bigger.

A very cool feature of the Link Juicer is the fact that it automatically does link reinforcement, in other words: it builds links to the articles and posts it creates. This happens automatically and some of the articles and blog posts TLJ creates will also get bookmarked or be linked to from other articles and posts, over time. This creates a multi-tier backlink network, passing along more link-juice and making sure a greater percentage of the links get indexed.

Results

There's no doubt that the Link Juicer provides a solid benefit to SEO campaigns when it's used in combination with other link-building tools. You can use it to create a nice and steady drip of (mostly low-quality) links to any site and you can use it to really push some significant link-juice to link-hubs (i.e. high-value sites with a backlink to your money-site).

To give it a tougher test, I also had TLJ run on it's own, with no further link-building, for two test-pages, with each having 10 links per day assigned to it.

Test number one was an indexation test: I created a bunch of Web2.0 blogs, put minimal content on them and then ran the Link Juicer, rotating through all of the URLs. The test-blogs did all get indexed, eventually. It was not an overnight-miracle, but it did work. Considering that I was spreading 10 links a day to five different properties (i.e. only 2 links a day for each site), the results weren't bad.

For the second test, I created a hubpage for a long-tail keyword and backlinked it using only TLJ. The question was: Would it be able to pull rank all on it's own?

Answer: Yes, but just barely. Out of 240 links built, Yahoo reports only 5 (interesting: all on WPmu blogs). In terms of ranking, the page went from position 11 to position 7 during the course of 10 days and then gradually dropped back down to position 10. I'm now going to change the content in that campaign and see what happens (will update this post when results are in).

Conclusion

The Link Juicer works very much as advertised. It's supposed to be a tool for increasing the link-juice within backlinking campaigns, not a standalone tool. For keywords with virtually no competition, it may do the trick, but for most purposes, it's best use as a "link-bolstering" tool and I recommend using it on link-hubs as well as your money-site directly.

It doesn't perform miracles, but it does work and at 50 bucks a month it comes with a reasonable price-tag. The fact that it requires almost no maintenance (switch up the content every three to four weeks and you're good) is this tool's greatest feature.

But don't listen to my ramblings: Get a completely free 30-day trial and see what TLJ can do for you in practice.

Click here to get the free trial of the Link Juicer.

UPDATE

Ben Dixon made a very good point in the comments, which is that for the price of Link Juicer, you can find link-building services offered in various forums that are likely to produce better results. I have to agree with that. Of course, you have to find and test these services first, but it could be worth it.

Since there's a free trial, I still recommend that you give TLJ a try (especially if you focus on long-tail keywords) and see what it does for you. But looking at my results, it's probably not the most effective way to put $50/month to work.

ArticleRanks is a blog network and at first glance, it may seem like just another one among many. The basic functionality is your standard blog-network fair: There are two parts to the network – one where you can add your own sites to receive content and the other where you can submit articles to the network and get backlinks in return. So far, so common. But ArticleRanks comes with a few twists that make it stand out from the crowd.

Read on to learn about the details and see how you can test-drive this service for free.

ArticleRanks Overview

Name:

ArticleRanks

Creator:

Musa, Digital Connected Media

Medium:

Blog Network

Price:

$39/month

As stated above, the link-building component of ArticleRanks works just like any other blog network: You submit a spun article with up to three backlinks in it and it gets published on lots of sites in the network. So, let’s get right into what makes this particular network worth a closer look:

Syndication

The first thing worth mentioning is that the articles I’ve submitted to ArticleRanks have been published up to 150 times. That’s 450 potential links (if you insert three different links) from one single article submission – more than I’ve seen from any other blog network. Mostly, I’ve seen a lot of publishes during the first few days after submission and then a slower trickel of further publishes during the next few days and even up to weeks after the submission.

The lowest number of publications I ever got was 48 (which is still pretty good). On average, I’m getting 86 publishes per submitted article on ArticleRanks and that is simply outstanding.

Bookmarking

Just recently, a new feature was implemented where the articles submitted to the network will automatically be bookmarked to several social bookmarking sites, creating a few backlinks to the pages containing your backlinks. The feature works in the same fashion as the network itself: Users can create and add social bookmarking accounts of their own. This way, the published articles can be submitted randomly to a few among thousands of different bookmarking accounts (reducing the footprint of the system).

This is a very welcome feature and it should ensure that more of the pages containing your backlinks will get crawled and indexed by Google.

Credits-System

To submit articles, you can either spend credits or sign up for the monthly subscription. The monthly subscription will let you submit as many articles as you like, to the system. If you don’t intend to submit articles very often, then using credits could be the better option. You can either purchase credits and spend them on article submissions, or you can earn credits by accepting articles from the network (you get credits for every article you publish and you can get credits for more than one site if the sites are on different IP addresses). You also get credits for creating and adding social bookmarking accounts to ArticleRanks.

This means that it’s even possible to use ArticleRanks for free, to a certain extent. In addition, you can use the following coupon code when signing up, to receive some extra credits right from the start: c467324fed35d8be68a53d9d44bb8420

Article Spinner

ArticleRanks has a built-in article spinning system that is actually quite decent. It makes the re-writing of articles on a sentence-by-sentence basis quite easy and ensures that you don’t have to mess around with manually inserting spin syntax. If you’re going to spin articles on a regular basis, my recommendation is still to get the Best Spinner, but the system in ArticleRanks isn’t half bad either.

Quality and Results?

ArticleRanks has the same problem all blog networks like it have: The articles in the system tend to be low quality, so no one wants to accept them to a really good site. Because of this, people generally put “crap blogs” in subdomains or sub-folders, exclusively for the purpose of accepting this blog network content. In turn, this means that your articles will mainly be published to sites that don’t have much going for them in terms of Pagerank, backlinks or overall site quality.

The links themselves are high-quality links (anchor text, editorial, dofollow), but they are generally on lowest-quality sites, so don’t expect miracles in terms of ranking results you get with it.

Having said that, ArticleRanks is most definitely capable of moving rank, even on it’s own. When you combine this kind of “base-level” link-building (large volume of weak backlinks) with other link-building methods (higher-quality links), you get a very potent mix. I personally use blog networks (ArticleRanks being my favourite one) as part of the link-building strategy for each page I want to get ranking and it’s never failed to deliver.

Conclusion

ArticleRanks is the best blog network I’ve ever tested and since you can test it for free (use the coupon code when signing up) and even continue using it for free to some degree, based on the credits-system, you should absolutely give it a go.

Backlink Battleplan is my first “premium” product. Actually, that’s not a very good way of putting it, because my free stuff tends to be pretty “premium” as well. Backlink Battleplan is the first product I’m actually going to ask you to pay for, then.

Right now, though, it’s not available yet. And to pass the time until it is, I’m going to be giving out some free tips, tools and techniques.

You can sign up here to go get them.

Backlink Battleplan is all about building links and there are two things that really set it apart:

It gives you a clear, step-by-step site promotion plan to follow. Basically, you repeat all the steps in the Battleplan until your page reaches that #1 spot for your target keyword. Then you move on to the next site.
-

It relies on automated link-building systems, but all of those systems are free. In other words, the Battleplan can save you a couple hundred bucks a month in paid tools. Or, you can add the free tools to your arsenal of paid ones and get even more links, even more quickly (hint: that’s what I do).

Anyway, to get an impression of what this thing is all about, head on over here and sign up.

Also: Please leave a comment below the free videos, letting me know what you think. Thanks!

Cheers,

WP Syndicator is a WordPress plugin which, you guessed it, syndicates your content. What does that mean, in practice? The plugin takes an excerpt of a new post, adds a “read more” link and publishes that on several free blogging platforms like Blogger.com and tumblr.com. It also sends tweets to twitter and other micro-blogging platforms. The end-effect of this is that you can instantly build a bunch of backlinks to each new post you create and also get some decent click-through traffic (depending on how active and involved you are on twitter and the other micro-blogging services). This review features two videos detailing the plugin and one heck of a good reason why you should get it.

Overview

Name:

WPSyndicator

Creator:

Andy Fletcher

Medium:

WordPress Plugin

Price:

$9.70*

*This is part of the big reason you should get this plugin right now.

The other part is that all the profits made from selling this plugin during the limited time it’s being offered for just $9.70 (regular price: $47) are being donated to asthma research. So, not only is this a great deal, it’s also for a good cause!

Videos

I made two different videos about the WPSyndicator plugin. The first one is basically a sales-video for the plugin that I made to straight-up promote it (by the way: affiliates don’t get a cut on this. ALL the profits go to charity). While I don’t usually post anything with a sales-angle here, the video can still help you understand exactly what this tool does:

The second video is simply a demonstration of how to install the plugin, how to syndicate a post and I also show you the results on a few of the sites, so you can see what exactly the Syndicator sends out:

//
wistiaEmbed = Wistia.embed("2f8e860efc", {
 videoWidth: "640",
 videoHeight: "360",
 volumeControl: true,
 controlsVisibleOnLoad: true,

Conclusion

The plugin does what it says on the box: It syndicates your posts, creating backlinks automatically. It does take a little time to set it up with all of the different accounts, but once that's done, it really is a one-click solution. Bottom line: It's probably the easiest way I've ever seen, for buidling a handful of backlinks and giving a small "SEO boost" to each one of your posts.

The low price and charity donations will end in the third week of July, so get in on this right now and help a good cause: Get The Plugin Here.

Cheers,

If you’re doing SEO, you’re always on the lookout for possible link-sources, and not just any old link-sources, either. As I have discussed in a previous post, not all backlinks are equal and ideally, the links pointing to your site should be coming from diverse sources, have a targeted anchor text and come from within site content (rather than from comments or sidebars).

In terms of these requirements, blog networks may just be the perfect link-building tool. In this article, I explain what blog networks are, how they work and what their benefits and drawbacks tend to be.

What is a Blog Network?

As the name implies, it’s a network of blogs. These blogs are all connected to one central hub, your “blog network provider”, if you will. This is usually a paid service that you need to sign up for (more on that, later).

What the blog network does for you is that it allows you to publish articles to lots and lots of blogs.

It usually goes like this: You log in and submit a new article, after picking an appropriate category, entering some tags and inserting a few links into the article body. This article is then sent out to and published on lots of blogs that match the subject of your article (i.e. a health-related article is posted to health-related blogs).

You might conclude that using a blog network for link building is a bit like article marketing using free article directories, then. Except that it’s way better.

Benefits of Blog Networks

Here are the major advantages that blog networks offer over other kinds of link-building and article marketing:

Full Control Over Anchor Texts
You get to choose the desired anchor text and link location and you can also set up different variations of the anchor text (using spinning syntax) to make your link profile look more natural.

Fewer Restrictions
Many article directories are very strict about what kind of content they allow. They also usually don’t let you place links within the article body and are restrictive about what you’re allowed to put in your author box, where links are allowed. On blog networks, there are also rules about what you are allowed to post, but they’re rarely as restrictive or picky as article directories tend to be.

More Links
Submit your article to an article directory and you get one, maybe two links from the resource box. Submit an article to a blog network and you will see your article published to dozens, if not hundreds of sites, receiving new backlinks every time.

The Receiving End

You might be wondering where all those blogs in the network are coming from. The answer is simple: Each blog network allows you to “plug in” your own sites as well, to receive content from other blog network members.

The benefit of doing this is that the sites you plug into the network will have lots of new content posted to them, all of it relevant to the subject of the sites. In other words, it’s a form of auto-blogging. Of course, those posts contain links to other people’s sites, but you can still monetize the surroundings of the post contents (with AdSense, banners,…). This way, you can conceivably set up a few dozen auto-blogs that will eventually generate some passive income thanks to the constant influx of fresh content.

Downsides of this System?

From a publisher’s point of view, the main problem with blog networks is a lack of quality. By and large, the content you’ll receive from these networks is really just a placeholder for the links inside it. Content can range from half-decent to barely readable garbage. Whatever you do, don’t plug a blog you really care about into a blog network. Even moderating every post that comes along isn’t a good strategy, since it’s just a waste of time.

From the link-builder’s perspective, blog networks are much more interesting. You get good, in-content backlinks from many different sites and IP addresses. However, the quality problems affect everyone. Since generally, the content is rubbish, you won’t get any publishes on truly high-quality sites and especially if the network lacks good moderation, your links can be extremely low-quality.

In short: you can get bad content and decent backlinks, but don’t expect any miracles.

In Conclusion

Blog networks provide a powerful way to build backlinks and as long as the quality of the network is good. And even if the quality is bad, the backlinks will still help your site rank.

Cheers,
